Fluorescent Adolescent

Wow I haven't updated in quite a while! (dramatic voice) Quite a bit of things have been going on. Okay, not really. But lately I've been pretty happy for some reason and thought I'd share the particular reason I'm pretty happy today: my outfit. Lame and as conceited as it sounds, it's a factor as to why I was/am feeling pretty good.

After I got ready this morning my dad asked me if I was from American Graffiti (movie set in the 50's) and I proudly said "Yep!" Um lame I know but whatever it made my morning.

Also this week I have discovered the Arctic Monkeys (cough Alex Turner) and have fallen in love with their music (couGH and ALEX TURNER) and all I can say is wow (ALEX TURNER!!!) because they're really amazing. I also may have a huge crush on Alex Turner...

hahha dead.

That guy will be the death of me.

Anatomy

This past week I was lucky enough to have discovered that Anatomy Vintage, a local vintage boutique, had sprung up in a little town close by. The lady who ran it was extremely nice and complimented my style claiming that "I had a whole lotta style for a 14 year old!" (this made my day, I have to admit.) I looked through the racks of stuff and picked out a cute 50s yellow party dress and tried it on, and then my cousin urged me to check out the front of the store where lo and behold there was a 1960s girl scout leader uniform. I tried it on and sorta kinda fell in love (yes this is totally possible, pft...) I purchased it and the lady even threw in a a 50s black lace scarf for free. It definitely was a great week.

I look so mad, wow. 

So this is the two piece uniform (shirt, skirt) paired with a pair of yellow tights (thanks Target) and some boots (JCPenney, one of the only things they're good for really)

Oops it's blurry oh well 

And this is the scarf. I thought it looked really cool hanging from my mirror for some reason.

I'd say it looks very Stevie Nicks-ish, don't you think?

First posts are always awkward and I literally don't know how to start this. I guess in a first post you usually introduce yourself and talk about what's gonna go down but that seems boring so.... this is a first post and I hope it wasn't as painful as you thought it would be.
